Falcao ready to fire United to glory
Radamel Falcao has assured Manchester United fans that he is fit and ready to fire the club to glory following his loan move to Old Trafford.
The Colombian suffered anterior cruciate ligament damage in his knee while playing for Monaco in January and subsequently missed the World Cup in Brazil – which was a seismic blow for both player and country, given he scored nine goals in qualifying.
Falcao’s return arrived in the summer and on English soil, when his comeback goal earned Monaco a pre-season victory over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. During the recent international break, the 28-year-old also made his return for his homeland.
Speaking to the media, Falcao said: “I feel well, I started to play two months ago with Monaco and I've improved in the last month a lot. I have scored goals and that's important to a striker. I am confident with my physical form and I am comfortable with my knee.
“This is a new process, a new team and this year some new players have come in,” Falcao continued. “I think Manchester United will build a big team this season and in future seasons. I would like to be here and to be part of this project.
“I feel very good in myself and I am very happy to be here. I've had a great welcome. When you talk about a settling-in period, it makes it very easy when you are surrounded by quality players. I can't wait to get started.”
