27/08/2013 Tottenham have reportedly received a rival bid for Gareth Bale, though the North London side are refusing to name the club involved. And when asked if United are in for the Welshman, following Monday's draw with Chelsea, David Moyes responded with an emphatic "No". However, the boss did appear to leave the door open by saying: “I said at the start when I got the job that Manchester United will always be interested in the best players and we're always looking to try to improve the team,” he explained. “The owners have given me every opportunity to bring in who I want and we’ll continue to try and find those players. It’s been tough in this window but we’re always looking at the best players. I can’t give you any more.”
27/08/2013 United and Barcelona are reportedly both interested in FC Porto centre-back Eliaquim Mangala. Scouts from both clubs were present at the Estádio do Dragão on Sunday to watch the French player perform against Marítimo, according to Portuguese sports newspaper A Bola.
27/08/2013 The Telegraph claims United plan to make a renewed £20million bid to sign Marouane Fellaini before Sunday’s clash with Liverpool at Anfield, “despite Everton’s increasing frustration with efforts to sign the Belgian midfielder.”

26/08/13: United will make an improved £35million bid for Marouane Fellainiand Leighton
Baines, according to the Daily Mirror. If it fails, David Moyes is prepared to focus his attention solely on Fellaini in an attempt to strengthen his midfield. Meanwhile, former Reds keeper Tim Howard has hailed his Everton team-mates' professionalism during the window. "To be fair to Felli and Baines," the USA No1 told the Daily Mail. "You look at some other clubs and they have got some idiots. A team becomes interested in them and they don't turn up for training or train with the Reserves. That's not these guys."
26/08/13: Sky Sports believe Tottenham have received a rival offer for Gareth Bale and the Welshman's proposed world record switch to the Bernabeu is still not certain to go ahead. The Independent feels United or PSG could be the other club in the frame.
